The Aims in the Early Days
The original idea was to take the technical knowledge learnt in the radio and television engineering, applying the importance of understanding how instruments worked and using these skills in the medical field.
The unique service in those early days was that Felix was always at his desk, you could write, telex or telephone and would get an answer straight away; if the answer was not known, the question would be translated into ‘supplier speak’ with the real issue being identified and the question posed to the manufacturer. Responses were always quick. These core values are still with Schuco today.
All customer feedback is valued and is as vital to improve current products as it is to new product development.
Schuco aim to be the eyes and ears of the manufacturer as well as the customers’ champion.
The business has languages within the team to facilitate effective working with our international suppliers. Fluent French, German and Italian is spoken.
We make a difference by applying methodical problem solving and technical skills to healthcare products.
Our Aims Today
In essence, there is no change from the aims in the early days of the business.
We are all proud of the Schuco diamond and we intend to keep it polished.
We want to develop relationships with patients & patient support groups so that we can understand what their own needs and requirements are so that the right type of new products can be delivered to the market; those that offer the technical requirements of the healthcare professional as well as, where possible, being able to deliver the niceties of the patient requirements. A good example of this is in 2008 the introduction into the UK of the Vivascope, the latest technology in delivering the possibility of and non-invasive, ‘optical biopsy’.
We want to deliver a world class business that our whole team is proud of.
We are the friend of the patient, the healthcare professional, the nurse, the doctor and the surgeon. We want all of our customers to enjoy and value their relationship with Schuco and to be able to recognise that we add value to their work.
