Schuco Firsts

Schuco first made the headlines when the Portojet was featured on Tomorrow’s World; it was a mass vaccination gun that was developed for the Porton Down Germ Warfare Unit and has been sold to the military and to third world countries, where it was used in the fight against Cholera. It was used more recently in the fight against disease after the Pakistan floods and is used in the UK in the provision of flu jabs.

Other firsts include:

• Automatic pneumatic tourniquets
• Dermojet injectors
• First pump operated breast milk expresser
• No scalpel vasectomy kits
• Dermlite dermatoscopes

The Hyfrecator was sourced in California in 1962; the finalisation of the deal would have meant that Felix missed Paul’s birth. However, the deal was done and Felix managed to arrive home in time for the birth, as Paul arrived 10 days late, but that’s one of the only times a Schuco delivery has been late. The Hyfrecator is still one of our best selling lines!
