Globally active and family-owned pharmaceutical company Croma-Pharma unveiled its stunning new headquarters in Leobendorf, Austria on Thursday 28th September 2017. The 6000m² building houses more than 350 employees and boasts a state of the art factory with one of the most modern automatic syringe filling lines in the world.

Employees and leaders within the company spoke passionately of Croma’s burning ambition to become one of the top 3 players in aesthetics history – something which looks like a very real possibility. The impressive building loomed ahead of an enthralled audience, illuminated by dazzling lights from a giant projector. A highlight of the event was a grand reveal – the street on which the new headquarters sits has been named ‘Croma Street’ in honour of the new building.

Schuco became the UK master distributor for Croma-Pharma’s full aesthetics product range earlier this year, bringing together over 100 years of combined experience within the medical and pharmaceutical industry. The Austrian company was originally founded in 1976 by Karin and Gerhard Prinz who worked as pharmacists in Vienna.

The Minister for Lower Austria – together with the Prinz family –  cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the new facility.

CEO of Schuco, Paul Huttrer was invited to attend the glamourous event and commented afterwards; “We’re extremely proud to be associated with such a dynamic and progressive company as Croma-Pharma.  Their significant investment in R&D, together with ownership of the impressive Yuvell Fine Aesthetics clinic in Vienna is a clear demonstration of the passion, commitment, vision and ambition that the Prinz family and their team have.  We’re working closely with them to bring their ongoing pipeline of new technologies to our growing aesthetics clientele in the UK and Ireland”.

In the early days of the company, the focus was on the nationwide expansion of the registration, import and distribution of products and medicines not registered in Austria. In the 1980s successful drugs were licensed for glaucoma treatment. Subsequently, the company expanded its portfolio to the field of ophthalmology.

The steady growth of Croma-Pharma during the years that followed meant they could begin researching and developing their own products in ophthalmology, arthroses and eventually aesthetic medicine. Since 1994, more than 40 million syringes were produced. They had to expand to multiple buildings to meet the demand, resulting in Croma having 9 locations. The new headquarters in Leobendorf now unifies all the departments under one roof.

Croma now specializes in the industrial production of hyaluronic acid syringes and has become a global expert in this field.  It has 12 subsidiaries in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Europe and is one of the world’s most innovative companies in the market of minimally-invasive aesthetic medicine.

The premium brand Princess® has been developed so that minimally invasive beauty treatments using hyaluronic acid syringes can be performed almost painlessly. This was something Croma recognised before it became an international trend and has since developed to become its core business. As well Princess HA Fillers and PDO threads, Croma also has an international partnership with Universkin, the revolutionary bespoke skincare solution for which Schuco are also the sole UK distributors.

The whole Schuco team is proud to be partnered with such a well respected, pioneering company whose values fit closely with our own.
