For over 75 years, the Hyfrecator has been a top choice by healthcare professionals.

The Hyfrecator is a Surgical Diathermy Unit with both monopolar and bipolar modes. It produces a controlled electrical discharge of high frequency and high voltage, which selectively destroys tissue by the passage of electric current. Professionals experience simple use, precise tissue therapy, and years of safe, reliable operation.

The Hyfrecator allows precise destruction of all types of cutaneous lesion (both superficial and deep) and controls surgical bleeding simply, quickly and effectively.

It also provides controlled tissue coagulation and precise surgical haemostasis using bipolar coagulation.

Six Electrode Types

There are six types of electrodes that the Hyfrecator can use; sharp, blunt, bipolar, needle, ball, and blade. They are available sterile for use within surgical wounds, or non-sterile for use on the skin surface

Sharp tip electrodes and blades are ideal for procedures requiring pinpoint precision and control, while blunt tips are ideal for general broad-based coagulation.

Blunt and sharp tips are colour coded for rapid identification. The blunt electrodes are dark grey, and the sharp electrodes are white.

The Bipolar Forceps are designed to grasp, manipulate and coagulate selected tissue. The electric current alternates between the two tips, reducing the length of the current’s path and producing a precise, controlled accurate effect.

A Ball electrode is used to cauterise tissue superficially and at depth or desiccate tissue using fulguration.

Needle electrodes are ideal for no-scalpel vasectomies, reducing difficulty and reducing chances of infection.

Treatments

The Hyfrecator is extremely versatile and the following treatments and lesions respond well to electrosurgery:

  • Benign moles
  • Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra
  • Epilation
  • Facial Telangiectasias
  • Milia, Comedones, Small Cysts
  • Pyogenic Granuloma
  • Seborrhoeic keratoses
  • Skin tags
  • Spider Naevi / Angiomas, Syringomas
  • Viral Warts
  • Xanthelasma
  • Vasectomy
