The sun was shining in Monaco earlier this month for the AMEC & VISAGE meeting, bringing together two prestigious events with a focus on ‘Excellence in Diversity’. It addressed the gap between current education needs and continually evolving technologies in aesthetics, as well as the medical, scientific logic and rational for skincare.

Schuco’s partners UNIVERSKIN and Croma were invited to hold a stand in the exhibition hall, from which they could showcase their bespoke skincare care range. We were delighted when UNIVERSKIN picked up the Anti-Ageing and Beauty Trophy for ‘Best Cosmetic Product’, despite being up against some seriously outstanding competition!

AMEC (Aesthetic & Anti-aging Medicine European Congress) has been running successfully for 13 consecutive years, focusing on leading-edge information with practical applications in the disciplines of aesthetic and anti-ageing medicine.

Having formed more recently, VISAGE received a great reception when it launched in 2016. Organised in association with the School of Medicine & Institute of Face and Neck (University of Nice & Sophia-Antipolis, France), it is dedicated to teaching and training in the aesthetic medicine of the face.

The irrefutable synergy created from combining these events resulted in a unique, interactive and engaging meeting. In addition to the varied array of exhibition stands, it featured a full program of lectures and demonstrations with internationally renowned experts such as Dr Phillipe Kestemont,  Claudine Masson and Henry Del Mar.

Austrian plastic surgeon and aesthetics specialist Dr. Harald Kubiena gave a fascinating presentation based on his own experiences he’s faced in his career. He finished by saying that he likes to think of his work as-

‘taking patients on a journey across the sea to different islands. One island might be dermal filler, another island might be PDO threads and another might be Plasma treatment, but we can’t reach those islands successfully without a good boat, and that boat is skincare. We encourage all our patients to use UNIVERSKIN alongside treatments to help give them the best results.’
